Dr. Brad Edwards, President

received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, USA, then spent ten years at Los Alamos National Laboratory developing space missions and advanced technology. His work at Los Alamos included building the world's first functional optical cryo-cooler, leading roles on several space missions, and developing advanced technology such as superconducting tunnel junctions.
However, Dr. Edwards is best known for his work developing the first viable designs for a space elevator. He has been considered the father of the modern space elevator and is leading the effort to develop and build a space elevator. He is co-organizer of the NASA-sponsored space elevator games and president of a start-up company to commercially produce carbon nanotube material many times stronger than any other material ever made.
Dr. Martin Lades, Technical Director

is a senior research scientist. As such he is currently leading CNT fiber research projects at EuroSpaceward building cooperation with research facilities in Europe, the USA and Japan, with the aim to support the development of super strong CNT tethers for the space elevator and other aerospace or industrial applications. Previously Martin has been working on image processing, biotech, information security and strategic planning. Since 2005 he is involved with the NASA Beam Power Challenge where he designed the laser optics and climber tracking for the team Kansas City Space Pirates from 2007 on. He is also a founding member of the International Space Elevator Consortium (ISEC).
John Winter, Director Public Relations

John has studied Political Science and Planetary Geology. He worked a number of years on State Dept. contracts and at the UN as a refugee expert and consultant. Currently he is coaching financial experts in the Grand Duchy. He disposes of many valuable contacts and is prepared to boost promotion for EuroSpaceward and its mission.

Montserrat Ugalde Huebe, Event Manager

is Mexican by origin, studied at the University of Texas PanAmerican where she received a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with specialization in Manufacturing. Montse has been already part of EuroSpaceward’s team that managed successfully the 1st European Workshop on Space Elevator Climber and Tether Design in 2007. In addition she has been organizing EuroSpaceward’s Children Drawing Contests since 2008.
