CNT - 2007/09/27 21:16 An article by Chris Rapley and Prof. James Lovelock in Nature (news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7014503.stm) argues for huge flotillas of millions of vertical pipes in the oceans to help trap CO2 greenhouse gases, an idea already being researched by Atmocean, a US firm. Because Space Elevators using CNTs will require large amounts of carbon, has research been done on whether this carbon could be recycled from industrial CO2 emissions in a cost effective way? If so, perhaps public arguments for building a SE could be strengthened if one helps reduce greenhouse gases in this way?
